Study phases
The main phase of the project involves two small groups of nurses taking part in a series of four half-day workshop events which will explore each of the main study questions in turn. Starting in May/June 2018, the workshop events will take place every three months or so over the course of a year. The workshops for the group of around ten community based nurses will take place in London, while those for the group of around ten hospital based nurses will take place in Glasgow. The workshops will also involve two participants from allied healthcare professions (AHPs)/pharmacy and two representatives of the public/patients. Between workshops the groups will also share and develop ideas using a virtual learning environment (VLE) website.
Outputs from the main phase will inform the final phase which centres on a Policy Lab event at King’s College, London where a range of key stakeholders will gather to consider practical implications and priorities for action. In this way the project aims to directly contribute to progression of thinking and actions in this important field.
RIPEN runs from January 2018 to December 2019.
